Impact & Outreach with the Imagine Science Film Festival
We want to help researchers with Broader Impacts requirements and other science outreach activities by connecting you with science filmmakers and distributing the resulting films about your research through our global festival network.
Imagine Science Films is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to connect scientists with filmmakers. We host annual science film festivals in the US, Europe and the Middle East with the goal to expand the role of science in the current cultural discourse.
How it works
1
We connect you with science filmmakers.
After a quick consult we can introduce you to filmmakers. You can be heavily involved or not. We're selecting from a decades worth of filmmakers who have shown at our festivals worldwide.
2
The filmmaker creates a custom film showcasing your research.
ISF staff have completed dozens of similar projects and can help with the translation of scientific content to the screen.
3
The film is distributed through our festival network.
We'll distribute via existing satellite festivals around the world or at specialized screenings or workshops.
What is the cost?
Filmmakers require production funds (ballpark of $1500-$6000). ISF will charge a negotiated rate for staff time. These funds provide earned income for our 501(c)(3) non-profit that helps us spend more time showcasing great science films and running workshops and less time fundraising.
