The goal of this award is to encourage more scientists to create films that let us into their minds, labs, and lifestyle. This year's winner is Mira, directed by Amanda Tasse. |
Chroma Scientific Merit Award - The Earth is Humming
Chroma Scientific Merit Award - The Earth is Humming The Chroma Scientific Merit Award is given by the jury to the film that exemplifies science in storytelling and narrative filmmaking in a compelling, credible and inspiring manner. Visual Science Award - Non-Linear
Visual Science Award - Non-Linear The Visual Science Award is an award presented to the film that best depicts science in a visually-engaging manner. This year's winner is Non-Linear - A journey through Time and Microcosmic Space, directed by Linnea Rundgren and Hugo Farrant with animation by Dave Abott. |
Labocine People's Choice Award - Solar Walk
Labocine People's Choice Award - Solar Walk The People's Choice Award is presented by Labocine to the short film that receives the most audience votes during the festival. This year's winner is Solar Walk, directed by Réka Bucsi. |
Simons Foundation: Science Sandbox Symbiosis Award - Extremophiles
Science Sandbox Symbiosis Award - Extremophiles The Science Sandbox Symbiosis Award is presented by the Simons Foundation to the film selected from the Symbiosis competition that best represents the spirit of Symbiosis. This competition brings together scientists and filmmakers to create short films that promote the exchange between science and cinema, and the power of science storytelling through film. This year's winner is Extremophiles, directed by Leah Shore and Tracy Fanara. Thanks to Science Sandbox and the Simons Foundation for their support of this award! |
