Cinema Performance Protocols
Exploring expanded cinema via live music and editing.
Performance is integral to much of film, but rarely is film a performance in itself. An so we are excited to present evening exploring two possibilities of expanded cinema, through live editing and live music.
Performances will include Giulia Grossman's docufictional envisioning of an increasingly plausible mars mission, Mars Society, with a live score by Cosmic Neman, followed by an exclusive audiovisual performance by Markos Kay, reconfiguring his stunning simulations of scientific phenomena. These will preceded by Virtual Human, a new film by Fernando Cucchietti & Guillermo Marín exploring the complex performance of the human body through simulation.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door.
